Web26 Oct 2024 · The peak of the Krenitsyn – the active volcano – juts out of the Tao-Rusyr Caldera, which has filled with water in the millennia that have passed since its eruption, creating a ring-shaped lake unlike anything else on the planet. The Krenitsyn most recently erupted in 1952.
