WebMar 8, 2016 · Fly ash has been used as a substitute mineral filler in asphalt paving mixtures for many years. Mineral filler in asphalt paving mixtures consists of particles, less than 0.075 mm (No. 200 sieve) in size, that fill the voids in a paving mix and serve to improve the cohesion of the binder (asphalt cement) and the stability of the mixture. WebThe particle size distribution and SEM results show that the ball mill has a good crushing effect on fly ash and can improve the removal ability of SO 2 and HCl from fly ash. The analysis results from SEM, EDS and XRD show that NaOH is uniformly attached to the surface of the fly ash particles in an amorphous state structure.
