WebNov 30, 2024 · Update as of today: 1) the truck hasn't started and kept running since last week. It only starts right up, then dies immediately. 2) I got a fuel pressure tester and the pressure is at 53 with key on, and maintains pressure when it starts (then dies). 3) I pulled off the vaccum hose on the fuel pressure regulator and it was dry, no fuel came out. WebJuly 2007. I have a 2002 Silverado with 5.3L engine. Occasionally, when I turn it off, come back a few minutes later, it turns over but won't start. Leave it 15 mins and it starts. If you let it sit a while, it will start and then dies again. I have replaced the starter, batteries, oil pressure switch (it was bad) lift pump (also bad) and fuel filter.
